2025 CanPKU+ Building Bridges Conference

Call for Abstracts and Poster Presentations

August 21-24th, 2025

 

We are delighted to announce the inaugural Building Bridges: Uniting Families and Experts within our "Amino Allies" conference, hosted by CanPKU+ in Calgary, Alberta, from August 21-24, 2025.

This event will be dedicated to fostering collaboration and advancing knowledge within the metabolic community, specifically addressing Homocystinuria (HCU),  Maple Syrup Urine Disorder (MSUD) . Phenylketonuria (PKU) , and numerous Urea Cycle Disorders (UCDs).

The conference will begin on Thursday, focusing on industry and clinic professionals.

Friday will see a research element for our professionals, while we begin welcoming the arrivals of our patient community. 

Saturday will shine a spotlight on patient-centered research, bringing together professionals, medical experts, researchers, and industry partners, patients, care providers and not-for-profit organizations to bridge gaps between the various communities.

Sunday will focus on social opportunities for networking and fun!

We invite the submission of abstracts and posters from professionals, medical experts, researchers, and industry partners.

The presentation of case studies, successful educational tools, and current research in the management and treatment of HCU, MSUD, PKU and UCDs will be an important part of the 2025 CanPKU+ Building Bridges Conference.

 

Participants wishing to present a poster are cordially invited to submit abstracts (in English and/or French) describing case studies, research or other materials relevant to one of these four rare conditions for the poster session.

 

Abstracts will also be considered for oral presentations if you indicate a willingness to give one in your submission. 

 

Selections will be made by the CanPKU+ Planning Committee, consisting of at least three individuals.
