About CanPKU+
Mission Statement
Canadian PKU and Allied Disorders Inc. (CanPKU+) is a national nonprofit organization working to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by PKU, MSUD, HCU, UCDs, and related inherited metabolic disorders across Canada.
Our mission is to empower and support this community by providing accurate education, advocacy, and essential resources that promote health, well-being, and access to quality care.
We collaborate closely with patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and researchers to foster connection, advance understanding, and reduce barriers faced by those managing these lifelong conditions.
Through inclusive programs, awareness initiatives, and community engagement, CanPKU+ strives to create a compassionate and informed environment where individuals and families feel supported and equipped to thrive.
As we evolve, we remain committed to fostering hope, advancing research, and promoting equitable healthcare access for all Canadians affected by these rare metabolic diseases.
We are forever grateful to John Adams, Cristian Baigorria, and Tatiana Dociu, who recognized the need for a unified voice for PKU patients and founded this organization.
